Methodology

Producers Hybrids 1216NRX soybeans were planted on May 27, 2018 at 140,000 seeds/acre in 30 inch rows.  Factor® (Urease inhibitor) coated Urea (46-0-0) was applied at 20 lbs-N/ac by a hand spreader on July 8, 2018 into six blocks in the field.

Results

The late season nitrogen application had little effect (0.43 bu/ac) on soybean yield.  A yield increase of 1.76 bu/ac would have been required for there to be significant differences at the 90% confidence level.  Similar results have been reported in previous years.
