Methodology

Methods and Agronomic Information

Asgrow 0934 was planted in 30” rows on May 4 into a tilled field previously in corn. All seed was treated with Warden® CX fungicide/insecticide. Seed in the seven treatment strips (Figure 1) also received Vault® HP, which contained a specialized Bradyrhizobium inoculant and the biofungicide, Bacillus subtilis, strain MBI 600. The field received approx. 9.0 in. of rain from June 1 through August 31.

Results

Results

On average, the treated strips yielded no differently than the estimated yield of those same strips without Vault® HP (Table 2). This estimate was calculated from data surrounding both sides of each strip. It’s important to note that many areas of the field had substantial yield gains. However, it’s difficult to visually relate any of these yield gain areas to a particular landscape position or yield zone. Future trials with Vault® HP or a similar product may be of interest to understand situations where they may work best.
