Treatment Information
Four strips of Vitazyme biostimulant were applied in the
furrow at 13 oz ac-1
during planting. A second application
was made at the same rate to the foliage at R1.
Agronomic Information and Weather
Soybeans with a 0.9 maturity rating were planted in 30”
rows on May 16. Seed was treated with insecticide,
fungicide, and a B.japonicum inoculant. The previous crop
was corn, the stalks were grazed in the fall, and the field was only tilled in
the spring. A foliar fungicide was also applied at R2. The field received
approx. 9.34 in. of rain and accumulated 1802 GDDs from June 1 through
August 31. This was close to normal precipitation, but warmer than the
average of 9.24 in. and 1697 GDDs, respectively.
Results
Results
On average, Vitazyme biostimulant did not increase yields. However,
these results were different than those from a 2016 trial in Brookings Co.,
where Vitazyme appeared to show more potential. The Brookings site did
not receive a fungicide application and white mold was present. Perhaps
the Vitazyme biostimulant helped the Brookings crop overcome this stress.
Future trials may be of interest, especially in fields without fungicides.
