Methodology
Treatment Information
Three strips of Vitazyme biostimulant were applied in-furrow at
13 oz ac-1 during planting and then again to the foliage at R1.
Agronomic and Weather Information
Soybeans with a 1.9 maturity rating were planted in 30” rows on
May 19 at 140,000 seeds ac-1. Seed was treated with insecticide,
fungicide, and a B.japonicum inoculant. In addition, 3 gal 10-34-0
were applied in-furrow ac-1. The field was strip-tilled after corn harvest
in 2015 and field cultivated in the spring. The three treatment strips
each received 13 oz Vitazyme Biostimulant ac-1 in the furrow. The field
received approx. 9.36 in. of rain and accumulated 1844 GDDs from
June 1 through August 31. This was close to normal precip. and
warmer and the average of 10.6 in. and 1668 GDDs.
Results
Results
On average, the soybeans receiving Vitazyme biostimulant yielded no
differently than those without. However, the product appeared to
perform well in reps 2 and 3. This trial produced better results than an infurrow
application in the same field (shown in another report). This field
had substantial white mold and brown stem rot. Perhaps the Vitazyme
biostimulant helped the crop overcome this stress. Future trials are of
interest, especially in fields where disease pressure could be high.
