Methodology
This experimental field was in Buffalo County, South Dakota. Soybeans 24×728 variety was planted in 30-inch rows in strips on April 27, 2021. The purpose of this experiment is to compare the effects of Soy Fx treatment, which was applied at the rate of 1pt/ac, and no Soy Fx treatment. This experiment had three replications of Soy Fx treatment which was applied on 7/2/2021 at medium yield zone. During the analysis, whole field was separated into 3 different yield zones i.e., Low yield (<35 bu/ac), mid yield (35 to 55 bu/ac) and high yield (>55 bu/ac). This analysis is considering the low yield zone.
Results
Overall, Soy Fx application at low yield zone reduced yield. Yield was increased by 1.19 bu/ac however was not statistically significant (Figure 1 & Table 1). Replication 1 and 2, saw increase in yield by 1.65 and 4.39 bu/ac respectively whereas replication 3 observed slightly decrease in yield by 0.32 bu/ac respectively. However still more research at multiple sites with more replications are required to better explain the contrast between two different treatments in different environmental condition.
