Methodology

Methods:

Nortec 4139RR2Y 1.3 maturity soybeans was planted on May 28th and 29th 2017 at 160,000 seeds/acre in 15 inch rows. Omega 500 fungicide was applied at 12oz/acre with 20 gallons per acre water (carrier) on July 14th 2017 at soybean growth stage of R1. Endura was applied at 6.8oz/acre with 20 gallons/acre water(carrier) on July 14th 2017 at soybean growth stage R1. In the beginning of September white mold symptoms were visible from the road. An NDVI map from August 31st shows red reflectance data of the field. Endura is a group 7 fungicide and Omega500 is a group 29 fungicide.

Results

Results:

Results indicate there was a yield difference of +0.56 bushels averaged across 6 replications. However, the yield increase was not statistically significant, so there was no significant yield difference between Omega 500 and Endura. It is important to note that Endura was applied at a slightly lower rate than recommended at 6.8 oz./acre (recommended is 8 oz./acre) and that Omega 500 was applied at the recommended rate of 12 oz./acre.
