Methodology

Methodology:

Four strips were planted at 110,000 seeds/acre, which were compared to the farmer’s normal rate of 140,000 seeds/acre.

Results

Results:

Reducing the seeding rate did not significantly affect yield when averaged across the 4 reps. A reduced seeding rate of 110,000 seeds/acre may have reduced yields in Reps 2 and 3 on the Ws soil type. However, there was potential for a benefit from the reduced seeding rate in the medium yielding zones, see medium yield zone report.
