Methodology
Methodology:
Small plots in a farmer’s field were planted to 4 different seeding rates at 30 inch rows and drilled 7.5 inch rows on June 21st 2017. Planting was delayed due to wet weather. The center 2 strips of the 30 inch row beans were combined and analyzed per 30 ft treatment block. Seven or eight rows drilled beans were combined and analyzed per 30 ft treatment block. The 30 inch rows yields were then compared to the 7.5 inch rows yields at multiple planting populations.
Results
Results:
Row spacing did not significantly effect yields at multiple seeding rates. More research needs to be done to compare the yield difference between drilled (7.5 in) and row (30 in) beans at the same planting population.
