Methodology

Methods:

Two rows of cover crops, each spaced 7.5 in. apart, were drilled between 30 in. wide soybean rows during flowering (R1/R2).  A drill interseeder mounted on a 3 point hitch capable of seeding 5 soybean inter-row spacings at a time was used to perform the operation.  Plots were 30-40 ft long and were harvested with a plot combine on Oct. 19.  Biomass sampling was performed in late-Nov.

Results

Results:

There was no significant yield difference with the red clover cover crop interseeded at flowering. However there was significant difference in cover crop biomass among landscape positions.
