Methodology

Two strips of Priaxor® fungicide were sprayed at 4 oz ac-1 on July 25 at R2.  This product was a blend of both fluxapyroxad (group 7) and pyraclostrobin (group 11) fungicides. The field received approx. 11.15 in. of rain and accumulated 1793 GDDs from June 1 through August 31.  This was drier and warmer than the average of 10.11 in. and 1802.7 GDDs.

Results

Overall, the fungicide had no significant effect on yields (Table 2).  However, a 2016 trial in Kingsbury Co. with the same product, rate, and application timing showed a 3.5 bu ac-1 yield increase.  Additional foliar fungicide trials are needed in the future, especially earlier in the growing season during flowering stages.
