Methodology
Soybeans were planted on June 10, 2019 at a population of 165,000 Seeds/acre in 30-inch rows. Miravis Neo® fungicide was applied at R3 growth stage of soybean with the rate of 13.7 oz/ac in 100-foot wide strips, which had three replications. Imagery was collected using a fixed-wing AgEagle drone on September 23 of 2019.
Results
Overall, fungicide application did not increased yield. Average decrease in yield was 4.97 bu/ac from all three strips. White mold was not observed in drone images. Uneven stand and landscape variability were, however, visible from the imagery. In this trial, fungicide did not have a significant impact on plant health and final yield. More plant health trials are necessary to understand this potential relationship.
