Methodology

Soybeans were planted on May 14, 2019 at a population of 160,000 Seeds/acre in 30-inch rows. Miravis Neo® fungicide was applied on July 30, 2019 at the rate of 13.7 oz/ac in 90-foot wide strips, which had two replications at High yield zone.  Imagery was collected using a fixed-wing AgEagle drone at four different times: June 14, July 30, September 4, and September 23 of 2019.

Results

Overall, fungicide application increased yield by 0.51 bu/ac, however it was not significant at 90% confident interval. Both replicates  saw decrease in yield with fungicide application by 0.39 bu/ac and 0.63 bu/ac (Table 1). White mold was not observed in any of the four drone images. Uneven stand and landscape variability were, however, visible from the imagery. In this trial, fungicide did not have a significant impact on plant health and final yield. More plant health trials are necessary to understand this potential relationship.
