Methodology

This experiment was conducted at Day county. Soybeans were planted on May 15, 2020 at a population of 160,000 Seeds/acre in 30-inch rows. Iron fertilizer was applied at R3 growth stage of soybean, which had ten replications. Drone Imagery was collected using a fixed-wing AgEagle drone on June 30 for early season, August 7 for the mid season and September 9 of 2020 for late season imagery.

Results

Fungicide application boosted yield by 0.18 bu/ac on average, but the difference was statistically negligible (Table 1). GNDVI is a scale that ranges from -1 to 1 and was computed using drone imagery. GNDVI values closer to 1 indicate improved plant health and yield, while lower values indicate the opposite. To better understand the efficacy of Iron fertilizer, more study at various locations and replication is needed.
