The variety, Stine 17RH03 was no-tilled in 30” rows. Ascend® plant growth regulator, which contains kinetin, gibberellic acid, indole butyric acid, copper, manganese, and zinc was applied to the three treatment strips (Figure 1) at 6.4 oz ac-1 on Aug. 5 @R3. The field received approx. 13.4 in. of rain from June 1 through August 31.
Results
Results
On average, the treated strips yielded 1.7 bu ac-1 higher than the estimated yield of those same strips without Ascend® (Table 2). This estimate was calculated from data surrounding both sides of each strip. Additional on-farm trials may be of interest in the future to help find the situations where this product fits best in South Dakota soybean production.
