Treatment Information
A tank mix of Bio-Forge (N,N’ – diformyl urea) and TrivaproTM foliar
fungicide (Groups 3,7,11) was applied to both fields on July 18 at 8
and 14 oz ac-1, respectively. Bio-Forge is marketed to relieve stress.
A strip in each field was left untreated (Figure 1).
Agronomic and Weather Information
Soybeans with a 1.4 maturity rating were planted in 30” rows on
5/21/16 in a conventionally-tilled field. Seed was treated with a
fungicide, insecticide, and inoculant.
Agronomic and Weather Information (cont.)
Fields 1 and 2 received approx. 5.6 and 10.6” of
rain from June 1 through August 31, respectively.
Since the average rainfall was 10.6”, this was drier
than normal for Field 1 and normal for Field 2.
Both fields received approx. 1802 GDDs during
the same timeframe, which was warmer than
the average of 1668 GDDs.
Results
Results
Overall, the treatment did not significantly affect
yields (Table 2). The strips actually represent
soybeans without foliar treatment. Therefore,
yield loss indicates product effectiveness. This
product appeared to have more potential in a
lower-yielding (35-45 bu ac-1) 2016 trial in Day
Co. The Day Co. treatment only contained Bio-
Forge, which was applied both in-furrow and
foliar at R2. Additional trials should be
performed, especially in fields prone to stress.
