Methodology
ESN (44-0-0) was applied at 20 lbs-N/ac by a hand spreader. The ESN was applied at R1 in late July.
Results
The ESN fertilizer decreased average soybean yield by 8.02 bu/ac. Since there was only one replication, no statistical analysis could be performed to test for differences between treatments. Future research is needed to confirm this concept of applying slow release nitrogen fertilizer to soybeans.
