Croplan 1750RC was drilled in 7.5” rows on 4/30 into a tilled field previously in corn. Seed was treated with Warden® CX fungicide/insecticide and Optimize®, which contained the LCO molecule to improve nodule formation and a specialized Bradyrhizobium inoculant to promote N fixation. ESN® controlled-release polymer coated urea was applied to the three treatment strips (Figure 1) at 75 lbs N ac-1 on July 15 at R2 with an airplane. The field received approx. 9.0 in. of rain from June 1 through August 31.

Results
On average, the three treated strips yielded no differently than the estimated yield of those same strips without ESN® (Table 2). This estimate was calculated from data surrounding both sides of each strip. However, it appears that the product may have been effective in many of the upland positions of the field, especially on the VzB and KrB soils.
