Methodology
Producers Hybrids 1816NRX soybeans were planted on May 17, 2018 at 140,000 seeds/acre in 30 inch rows. Blue-Zone® (6-24-6) starter fertilizer was applied in-furrow at planting at 4 gal Blue-zone® per acre. Blue-Zone® also contains Boron, Copper, and Zinc.
Results
Blue-Zone® decreased soybean yield by 3.50 bu/ac when compared to the unfertilized check. Further research is required to determine if this decrease in yield is significant.
