Methodology

R444SSTX, a 94 day hybrid, was planted in 30-inch rows at 33,000 seeds/ac in Kingsbury Co. on May 2, 2023. Before planting the seed was treated with BioCore Corn at 1.98 grams per pound of seed.  The contents of this product are listed in the document below the yield maps.  The corn was planted in seven strips that were each 40 ft. wide.  Corn was harvested on 10/1/23 and 10/2/23.

Results

Seed treated with BioCore yielded 1.7 bu/ac lower than corn not receiving the product.  This was less than 6.1 bu/ac, and therefore not considered significantly different at a 90% confidence level (Table 1).  Since BioCore is biological product designed to raise available P levels, further testing, especially in soils with lower P levels, would be of interest in the future.
