Seeding Rate/ Varieties/ Row Spacing, Medium Yield
Hefty 28X8 soybeans were planted at 200K and 165K in strips on May 2, 2018 in 7.5 inch rows.
Decreasing the seeding rate from 200K to 165K increased soybean yield by 2.24 bu/ac. This increase in yield was significantly different. A yield increase of 0.57 bu/ac was met for there to be significant differences at the 90% confidence level.
Funding for this research project was provided by the South Dakota Soybean Research and Promotion Council. The authors would also like to thank the soybean producers who participated in this project.
