Seeding Rate/ Varieties/ Row Spacing, High Yield
Hefty H28X8 soybeans were planted at 100K and 160K in strips on May 7, 2018 in 7.5 inch rows.
Decreasing the seeding rate from 160K to 100K increased soybean yield by 2.35 bu/ac. This increase in yield was not significant. A yield change of 9.22 bu/ac would be required for there to be significant differences at the 90% confidence level
Funding for this research project was provided by the South Dakota Soybean Research and Promotion Council. The authors would also like to thank the soybean producers who participated in this project.
